Hosted Tahiti Excursion: A Celebration of Connection in Paradise
Papeete, Tahiti | 14th September
Tahiti is one of those places that seems to shimmer even before you arrive. The light feels softer, the air sweeter, and time moves in that slow, effortless island rhythm. It made the perfect setting for the Hosted Tahiti Excursion on 14th September, a full-day hosted tour and lunch where Ecruising's Lauren and Rebecca welcomed a group of long-time Ecruising members to experience the island's charm, its people, and the spirit of appreciation that defines the Ecruising community.
A Day to Celebrate Loyalty
The event wasn't just about exploring Tahiti. It was a heartfelt thank-you to Ecruising members who've been part of the journey for years, some for more than a decade. Rebeca reflected that hosting our members was a real pleasure. It felt less like a formal event and more like catching up with old friends. Spending a day together in Papeete made the experience even more special.
Throughout the day, stories flowed easily. Many guests shared tales of past voyages, from the fjords of Norway to the islands of Japan, and swapped tips on favourite cruise itineraries. Lauren shared how inspiring it was to hear their perspectives: Our Ecruising members are incredibly well-travelled. Listening to their experiences gave us real insight into what they value most when planning their holidays, that personal connection, the care, and the details that make travel seamless.
The Flavours of Tahiti
Lunch at Restaurant Bar du Musee Gauguin was one of the day's highlights. Overlooking the turquoise lagoon with Tahiti Iti rising in the distance, it was the kind of setting that makes you pause, the kind where conversation slows and everyone takes a moment to just appreciate where they are.
The menu was a celebration of local flavour, from fresh-caught fish to island-grown produce. The poisson cru, marinated in lime and coconut milk, was a clear favourite, while the coconut cake quickly became the dish everyone was talking about.
Nature's Quiet Side
After lunch, the group visited Vaimahuta Waterfall in the Papenoo Valley, a short, easy walk that opens to a breathtaking view. Surrounded by dense tropical forest, the waterfall tumbles into a pool of mist and light, a pocket of serenity just beyond the city. Described as a stunning natural wonder, easy to reach but so peaceful and untouched that it feels like you've stumbled across a secret.
For many of the guests, it was a reminder that Tahiti's magic lies not only in its lagoons and resorts but in its wilder, quieter places, the ones that seem to exist just for you, if only for a moment.
Gratitude and Connection
As the day drew to a close, there was an unmistakable sense of gratitude. This wasn't just a hosted tour; it was a celebration of connection, between Ecruising and its members, and between travellers who share a love of seeing the world.
Lauren summed it up beautifully: Connecting in person with our guests and thanking them for their loyalty meant so much. Many have been booking with Ecruising for over a decade, and being able to show our appreciation face-to-face made the whole experience incredibly rewarding.
Voices from Our Guests
The warmth and generosity of our guests made the Hosted Tahiti Excursion truly special. Their kind words reflect the same sense of connection that defined the day.

The Traveller's Tip
For anyone planning a visit to Tahiti, Lauren and Rebecca both recommend exploring beyond the main hub of Papeete. Just a short drive in any direction reveals lush valleys, cascading waterfalls, and peaceful rivers.
Rebecca also shared a practical tip: carry some local cash for taxis, as many drivers don't accept cards. And if your plans fall on a Sunday, plan ahead, much of the island slows right down, with many shops and services closed for the day.
A Lasting Impression
The Hosted Tahiti Excursion was more than a day in paradise. It was a moment to reflect, reconnect, and celebrate the relationships that have shaped Ecruising's story. Surrounded by Tahiti's timeless beauty, the event embodied everything Ecruising stands for, exceptional travel experiences, genuine connection, and the joy of discovering the world together.
